Policies and Process
2021 COVID-19 Booking Policy:
We have always put the health and safety of our guides and anglers above all else at the Montana Angling Company. The COVID-19 novel coronavirus has impacted our entire country and we will continue to safeguard the well-being of our guides and anglers as we move forward during this public health crisis. For the 2021 fly fishing season we will be implementing new policies and changing existing ones to effectively manage safety, promote health, and give our anglers maximum flexibility with their travel plans.
For the safety of our anglers, guides, and community:
- Guides will not work if they have any symptoms or illness
- Guides will have hand sanitizer available for use
- Guide trips may meet at off-peak times to avoid morning crowds at fly shops and other licensing outlets
- Anglers will be encourage to travel to destinations in separate vehicles
- Anglers will be encouraged to provide their own lunch
- We ask anglers to stay at home if you have any symptoms or illness within 14 days of your trip
Changes to Booking and Cancellation Policy:
For the 2021 season we will be adhering to our standard cancellation policy. Exceptions will only be made in the event of new Federal or State Government travel and quarantine restrictions that prevent anglers from visiting Montana. In the event of new mandated restrictions, we will allow anglers the option to either refund their trip fees or carry credit for a future trip.
A Note on Lodging: we are a booking agent for a number of fishing lodges in Montana. Our lodging partners are doing their best to accommodate anglers as well. Each lodge will have their own independent policy regarding bookings and cancellations.
We wish all the best and thank you all for the continued support. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Cancellations made within 30 days of the first day of a scheduled trip will result in full payment.
For Bookings Inside of 30 Days:

Guide trip fees are fully refundable less a $100 processing fee at any time if the booked guide can be rebooked on the same date. Lodging fees and other third-party fees are refundable according to the third-party’s booking and cancellation policy.
Changing the date you are booked is the same as cancelling and re-booking a separate trip. All cancellations must be given by written notice, either e-mail or by mail. The date a written cancellation notice is electronically received or postmarked will be considered the date of cancellation.
Trips may be cancelled at the discretion of the Montana Angling Company, its outfitter, or its guides at any time due to conditions that jeopardize client and/or guide safety, federal and/or state closures, or other uncontrollable circumstances. All guide trip deposits and funds will be refunded.
We make no exceptions to our booking and refund policy and encourage clients to purchase trip insurance with iTravelinsured if concerned about the possibility of cancellation.
We accept most major credit cards, checks, and cash for payment.
Booking Your Montana Fly Fishing Trip
Anglers can expect custom outfitting and personal service when booking a guided fly fishing trip with the Montana Angling Company. Our outfitter, Max Yzaguirre, handles all bookings personally and anglers will work with him to build a custom Montana fly fishing trip catering to personal preferences and requests. This could be a 10-day fly fishing adventure across all of the best trout water in Montana or a quick half-day trip to a local river, but our custom outfitting extends to all of our anglers and includes working with them to decide: where to fish, when to fish, how to fish, and where to stay.
We invite all anglers to contact us with any questions they have about our Montana fly fishing trips and guides. Our outfitter is always happy to talk fishing and assist anglers with their next Montana fly fishing trip.
