Winter & Spring Trip Specials
Enjoy Year-Round Guided Fly Fishing
Spring and Winter Fly Fishing
Fly fishing in Montana is a year-round pursuit for our Montana fly fishing guides, and some of the best fly fishing of the year can be had outside the prime-time summer months. We offer Winter and Spring Special guide trip rates for anglers wanting to take advantage of quiet rivers, eager trout, and cooler days. If solitude is what you crave, there is no better time to fish in Montana than December through April.
Weather in Montana is variable during the Winter and Spring months. Anglers fly fishing in the Winter should expect and prepare for freezing temperatures and snow. Anglers fly fishing in the Spring can expect generally better weather and comfortable fishing conditions.
Spring Guide Trip Special (April 1-April 30)
Enjoy a full day of fly fishing, at a special rate, during the month of April with our Montana fly fishing guides. Anglers can expect great early-season fly fishing on our famous waters. The combination of strong hatches and empty rivers make for some of the best dry fly fishing and streamer fishing of the year. We offer both float trips and wade fishing trips. Trip length is 6-8 hours.
Winter Guide Trip Special (December 1-March 31)
Winter in Montana is best described by two words: Cold and Snowy. Days are shorter, weather can be challenging, and fly fishing destinations are limited to what isn’t frozen over. While this may not sound like ideal fly fishing conditions, winter fly fishing is a unique experience that many anglers find to be rewarding. There is a special beauty to our rivers in the winter and a calm that is largely absent the rest of the year. Our guides are always ready to guide dedicated anglers that want to go fish.
Winter Trips are a perfect “day-off” from skiing at Big Sky Resort or Bridger Bowl.
All winter trips are subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather and conditions. We generally wait to finalize bookings on all winter trips 72 hours prior to the date of your trip, for the most up to date forecast. Trip length is 5-7 hours.
